Like the millions of fans of The Tragically Hip across Canada, the music of ‘The Hip’ was, and continues to be, the soundtrack to our lives. Each and every show we play is an opportunity for us to connect with fans of ‘The Hip’, to help bring back strong feelings and memories associated with the music, and to help honour Gord Downie’s legacy. We are proud to announce that this show will be a fundraiser for The Downie Wenjack Fund. Gord Downie said, “do something” and so we shall.
Inspired by Chanie’s story and Gord’s call to build a better Canada, the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund aims to build cultural understanding and create a path toward reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. Our goal is to improve the lives of Indigenous people by building awareness, education, and connections between all peoples in Canada.
