ZIIGWAN

FESTIVAL DE MUSIQUE ET D’ARTS AUTOCHTONES

Du 24 au 26 Mars 2023

Le Fonds Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack (DWF) et Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area (BIA), en collaboration avec ELMNT Radio, Red Music Rising et Music Tourism, sont fiers d’annoncer la tenue de Ziigwan, un festival de musique et d’arts autochtones. Il aura lieu du 24 au 26 mars prochain, Place Yonge-Dundas.

Ziigwan (prononcer SEE-gwon), le mot anishnaabemowin pour « printemps », célèbre les pouvoirs de guérison et d’apprentissage que possèdent la musique et l’art; la renaissance printanière; et l’éveil de tous alors que nous marchons ensemble sur le chemin menant à la réconciliation.

Vendredi, le 24 mars

Le Fonds Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack accueillera des écoles du Grand Toronto le temps d’un après-midi pédagogique au fil des prestations d’artistes ambassadeurs du fonds dont les DJ Classic Roots et Theland Kicknosway, ainsi que les Strong Water Singers, au tambour. Les élèves suivront un parcours constitué d’îlots d’apprentissage au gré duquel ils pourront engager la conversation au sujet de l’histoire, de la langue et de la culture autochtone.

Cette partie du festival a atteint sa capacité, mais veuillez vous inscrire pour vous inscrire sur la liste d’attente et nous vous informerons si des places se libèrent.
