Legacy Schools: The HUB Quick Start Guide

Welcome to The HUB, the place where you can find all the Legacy Schools resources! This Quick Start Guide will give you the information you need to log in and explore resources.

1. Accessing Resources in The HUB 2. Logging In 3. Exploring Resources 4. Understanding Resource Cards

1. Accessing Resources in The HUB

You can view five resources before you have to create a free account. In your preferred internet browser, go to https://learning.downiewenjack.ca/.

2. Logging In

If you’re not logged in, it will say Log in in the purple bar near the top of the page.

  1. There are two ways you can log in:
    • Select Log in on the top right of the page.
    • The HUB will allow you to view five resources or pages before prompting you to log in to continue. When you see the ‘Please log in to continue’ box, select Log in or Create Account.
  2. In the Email Address field, enter the same email address you use for your Legacy Schools account.
  3. Select Log in or hit Enter in the Email Address field.
    • If you have a Legacy Schools account, you’re logged in!
    • If you don’t have a Legacy Schools account, continue to step 4.
  4. We ask you for a few pieces of information to create a free account:
    • Email: Enter an email address you want to use to access The HUB.
    • First Name: Enter your given name.
    • Last Name: Enter your surname.
    • Optional: If you’d like to receive our DWF General Newsletter, select the checkbox.
    • Select Create Account. You will receive instant access to keep browsing!

If you would like to sign up for the Legacy Schools program to receive more free resources, please fill out this form and we will ship a Legacy Schools toolkit to your home or school for free.

3. Exploring Resources

To begin exploring resources, click on any resource tile on the Dashboard and use the search bar and filters to refine your search results.

Tip!

If you want to narrow down your search, you can use the following tiles:

  • “Secret Path” includes resources that DWF and educators like you have created for Secret Path.
  • “Legacy Schools Toolkit” includes the digital version of DWF’s Legacy Schools toolkit.
  • “Virtual Legacy Space” leads you to an online space to learn about Canada’s true history and ways to move reconciliation forward.
  • “Friends of DWF” includes links to resources by organizations we’ve partnered with.
  • “Collections” includes curated collections of resources about specific topics.
  • “All Resources” has every resource that’s been uploaded to The HUB.

4. Understanding Resource Cards

Each resource has a card that opens to reveal more information about the resource and at least one link to access it. You can also learn more about the type of resource, grade level, regions, languages, subjects, and months.

When you’re ready to access a resource, click the English Link or French Link, and The HUB will direct you to it!
