Join the Legacy Spaces Program

Legacy Spaces provide an opportunity for all organizations to create a safe, welcoming environment for their employees, guests, and community to engage with our collective journey towards reconciliation. They also serve as symbols and reminders of the important work each of us needs to undertake if the promises of this country and the TRC’s Calls to Action are to be fulfilled.

The program involves a five-year commitment with a tiered system of investment levels beginning at $5,000 per year towards our work. This funding supports our programming, campaigns, and events throughout the year. Each level includes different physical assets to develop your space, and other programmatic benefits including Indigenous Cultural Competency Training for staff and leadership. Inspired by Chanie’s story and Gord’s call to build a better Canada, the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund aims to build cultural understanding and create a path toward reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. Our goal is to improve the lives of Indigenous people by building awareness, education, and connections between all peoples in Canada.
